Sunday walk: 12th August - Rievaulx Abbey from Old Byland

Start: 10am prompt. Old Byland village. Park considerately in the village.

Leader: Joe

Distance: 6 miles (a shorter one given the heat potential!)

Time: 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours

Level of difficulty: Easy

Refreshments and toilets: public toilets at Rievaulx Abbey and then at the Sutton Bank Visitor Centre.

Appreciate the idyllic environment where Rievaulx Abbey flourished and where Byland Abbey was also originally established. This walk is mostly woodland and field paths with two easy gradients.
