Runswick Bay and Staithes - Wednesday 24 June

Parking and meeting point: Bottom car park just above the beach at Runswick Bay. Not sure how much it is as I did this walk a few years ago!

Start: 10.30am PLEASE NOTE DIFFERENT TIME.

Distance: 7 1/2 miles

Approx time: 4 Hours

Refreshments and toilets: There are pubs and cafes in Runswick Bay and Staithes.

The first half of the walk to Staithes goes inland, following an attractive route across fields, by farms and through woodlands. There is some road walking. We return along a memorable stretch of coast on which there are a few ascents and descents.

Sheriff Hutton - Sunday 14 June

Start: 10am prompt from village hall car park

Distance: 7.5 miles

Level of difficulty: Easy

Facilities: Pubs in village for toilets and refreshments after walk

A gentle walk from historic Sheriff Hutton past the castle ruins towards Thornton Le Clay before heading back towards the finish. The route includes the deserted medieval village of East Lilling and the church in Sheriff Hutton has significant connections to Richard III.
