Tuesday 14th February - Falling Foss and Littlebeck

A Valentines Day walk in this lovely part of the Yorkshire countryside.

Start: Take the A 171 road to Whitby and in about 1 1/2 miles after the turn off to Robin Hood's Bay, take a left turn onto the B 1416 and then in about another 1 1/2 miles where the road bends to the right, take the first of 3 turnings on the left, which goes off at an acute angle and signposted to May Beck. Go to the end of this road where there is a forestry commission carpark at the bottom of the hill on your right.

Leader: Ali

Distance: Approximately 7 miles and takes about 3 1/2 to 4 miles

Level of difficulty: Easy/moderate

Refreshments and toilets: None nearby. There is now a refreshment Kiosk at the Falling Foss Waterfall, but, unfortunately, it does not open until April.

This is an easy/ moderate, varied walk which is on paths, some of which are very muddy, tracks an a little road walking above the lonely hamlet of Littlebeck. This is a lovely walk.
