This beautiful walk starts at the top of Hardcastle Crags (near Hebden Bridge), heading down towards Gibson Mill with its stunning mill pond. The route then climbs gently around the valley, past the remains of a temporary viaduct and then over the moors to the Pack Horse Inn where we will stop of lunch. The Pack Horse Inn offers great lunches and beers next to an open fire. Or you can bring your own packup and eat outdoors. We then head out over the moors with lovely views in all directions. Finally, we head back down towards Gibson Mill where we can stop for coffee and cake, before heading back to the car park.
When Bridie and I reccied this walk, we took the route along the M62 and then via Halifax - fantastic industrial revolution era architecture to be seen on the hillsides all around.
