The Wolds offer wonderful views at all times of the year and especially in spring. Our walk takes us on a clockwise route towards Fridaythorpe, before looping back towards Huggate. The hills are gentle.

Wednesday walk: Acaster Malbis and Bishopthorpe - Wednesday 27 April

Start: 10am prompt. Meet at the far end of Racecourse Road, behind the main York racecourse stands.

Refreshments: cafe at Bishopthorpe and on Knavesmire

Toilets: cafe at Bishopthorpe

This is a gentle walk starting from behind the Knavesmire, heading towards Acaster Malbis, before returning along the river to Bishopthorpe and then back towards York.

There will be a chance to buy a drink and even lunch by the river in Bishopthorpe before we return along the river to the Knavesmire.

Sunday walk: Newton Mulgrave - Sunday 10 April - 10am

Start: 10am prompt - near Newton Mulgrave - follow A169 through Sleights  to roundabout, turn left onto A171. Continue for about 8.5 miles then turn right onto B1266 signposted Sandsend. Continue for 1.3 miles then on left a track to parking.

Muddy in places, walk across moor then head to Keld Hole waterfall, then walk towards Staithes with views of the sea. Then cut back round towards Newton Mulgrave with steady climb at the end (long climb).

This is a scenic walk starting in the pretty village of Levisham in the North York Moors. We will head towards the moors. Taking an anti-clockwise route across moorland, arriving at the northern edge of the Hole of Horcum. We then descend into the Hole, walk south and then climb gently to finish in Levisham ready for a cuppa or pint.

This a gentle walk in a historic part of Yorkshire - home to the battle of Towton and Cock Beck - the bloodiest stream in Britain's history!

The walk starts out from Towton along Cock Beck, then walks through the grounds of Hazelwood Castle, plus another look at Lead Chapel.

We will finish the walk in Tow ton with a visit to the tiny Greyhound pub.

Midweek walk: Elvington - Wednesday 26 January

Start: 10 am prompt. Off-road parking area 200 metres from York Maze on Elvington Lane (B1228). The area is on the right hand side after you pass York Maze heading towards Elvington. The turning looks like a farm entrance but there is public parking just as you turn in. A wooden walking signpost is visible from the road pointing into the parking area.
