Hi all
We are embarking on a walking challenge in 2017 - the Lyke Wake Walk - 40 miles from Osmotherley to Ravenscar, across the North York Moors in one day!
The challenge weekend will run as follows:
Friday 9 June - arrive afternoon evening in Osmotherley, staying at a local B&B and meet up in local pub for evening meal, before an early night to rest ahead of the next days challenge.
Saturday 10 June - start bright and early at 5am, heading out from Osmotherley to the official start point for a pic and then off we go, meeting the support drivers at numerous rendezvous points for breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner, before arriving in Ravenscar in the evening for a celebratory meal and drinks.
The walk should take between 13 and 16 hours depending upon conditions and speed of walking. We may split into two groups - faster and slower - to allow people to walk at their own pace. Stay in B&B in Ravenscar.
Sunday 11 June - meet up for a celebratory tea and cake, enjoy the coastal scenery, optionally join the Sunday Oddsocks circular walk along the coast and back again, before heading home early afternoon.
Arrange your own B&B accommodation in Osmotherley or Northallerton and Ravenscar.
If you wish to join us, either as a walker or as a support driver, please let me know as soon as possible. Email me here.
