Start: 10 am prompt
Car parking: Take the A 171 road to Whitby and in about 1 1/2 miles after the turn off to Robin's Hood Bay, take a left turn onto the B 1416 and then in about another 1 1/2 miles where the road bends to the right, take the first of 3 turnings to the left, which goes off at an acute angle and sign posted to May Beck. Go to the end of the road where there is a Forestry Commission car park and picnic area.

This is an easy to moderate, lovely walk which is mainly on paths, which will be muddy, tracks and a little walking on quiet roads. We pass through the hamlet of Little Beck and the well known Falling Foss waterfall before returning to the carpark along the May Beck.
