Fourteen walkers set out on a sunny and warm (compared to recent times) morning along the main street of Sinnington towards the 'river to know-where'. We headed up into the woods surrounding the river, enjoying snowdrops along the paths. Unfortunately, the daffodils and other bulbs were still to show their faces in the sun due to the cold winter.
Once up above the river we had magnificent views of the moors to the north and vale of York to the south. Our path remained close to the river throughout and eventually we had lunch by a lovely sloping wooden footbridge before heading away from the river toward Appleton le Moors.
Upon leaving the village, we headed back towards the river, arriving in the village of Sinnington and heading into the pub just before brief downpour and hail shower for a good pint.
See you all next month.
