Mid-week walk: Tueday 30th January - Beverly 9 mile circular walk

Start and time: At the 18th-century Market Cross in Saturday Market at 10am

Distance: 9 miles(14.5km)

Time: Approximate time 41/2 hours

Refreshments and toilets: A choice of cafes and pubs in Beverly and public toilets.

The walk explores the gently undulating countryside to the south and west of Beverly on the edge of the Wolds.  Although lengthy, this is an undemanding walk. Be prepared for some muddy paths at times. A bit of road walking on minor quiet roads.

Welton Dale and Brantingham - Sunday 14th January

Start: 10am prompt

Parking: Travelling on the A63 towards Hull and past turnings off to Brantingham and then Elloughton , take the next turning on the left to Welton. In the village park around the Green in front of the Green Dragon.

Distance: 8 1/2 miles (13.7km)

Time: 4 - 4 1/2 hours

Refreshments and toilets: Pub at Welton and pub and light refreshments at the Post Office at Brantingham.

This walk on the southern edge of the Yorkshire Wolds takes you through a classic Wolds landscape of narrow wooded valleys and rolling open uplands. It includes two outstanding attractive villages, both with fine churches. From the higher and more open parts of the route, the views extend across the Wolds to the Vale of York, the River Humber and Hull. None of the ascents and descents is steep or strenuous. and some splendid wooded stretches.
